Her passion for research extended throughout college, graduate school and her medical journey where she became involved in health policy, health systems management and data-driven research. In college, she earned a BS in Business and Management and MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in addition to an MS in Medical Technology at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Julia has co-authored over 50 papers with Dr. Frasier and the team before starting her MD at the Norton College of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Before medical school, Julia was involved in a number of endeavors to merge her passion with medicine with her background in research and health management. She most recently worked as a Health Program Coordinator at the New York State Department of Health, Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities Prevention in Albany, NY. She also has work experience in federally qualified health centers across her hometown, New York City, as a former Community Health Care Association of New York State AmeriCorps member and gained invaluable health project management experience at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Operations.
